ABOUT

Who We Are

Inspired by the citizen scientist movement, Weather Magic encourages families to use durable, low-tech weather tools to build our knowledge and wonder about the world around us. What if we could come to this mounting climate crisis with a sense of wonder, love and connection for our land, our history and one another? What if we keep fostering the sparkle of childhood magic and allow it to keep growing and informing our world?

Colorful Flags

Alex, CA

I love our barometer. We hung it in the living room where we can see it all the time. When a storm is coming and the water rises in the spout it gets everyone excited.

Naomi, OH

Our suncatcher casts so many rainbows all over our kitchen. When we moved houses, it was the last thing we took down and the first thing we set up in the new home. It brings a feeling of nature's magic indoors.

Laura, NY

Me and my neighbors bought a water test kit and split up the testing strips. We all tested our tap water and compared notes. The kids liked it so much that now their teacher is leading the whole class in the activity.
